Hossam Hassan urges Egyptian players to focus ahead of Cape Verde game

Former Egypt striker Hossam Hassan has urged the Pharaohs to focus on their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cape Verde.

Hassan, who is now a television pundit, said Egypt must not underestimate their opponents and must be fully focused on the task at hand.

“Cape Verde is a good team and they will be looking to make a statement against us,” Hassan said.

“We need to be fully focused and we need to be ready to give 100%.

“We have a good team and we have a good chance of winning, but we need to be careful.

“We need to stay focused and we need to be ready to work hard.

“If we do that, then I am confident that we can get a good result.”

Egypt will face Cape Verde in Praia on June 14. The Pharaohs are currently top of their qualifying group, with four points from two matches.

Cape Verde are second in the group, with three points from two matches.
