Alfa Romeo Plans All-Electric Future by 2027

Giulia to Lead the Charge, Tonale SUV to Offer Plug-In Hybrid

Sales of Giulia Rise in the US Despite Electric Shift

Alfa Romeo, the iconic Italian automaker, has announced its plans to transition to an all-electric car company by 2027. The company's flagship sedan, the Giulia, will be the first model to receive an electric makeover, setting the stage for a fully electrified lineup in the coming years.

While the upcoming Giulietta-sized Tonale SUV will share a platform with the Giulia, it will also offer an optional plug-in hybrid powertrain. This provides a balance between performance and sustainability, catering to customers who may not be ready to embrace fully electric vehicles.

Despite the shift towards electrification, sales of the Alfa Romeo Giulia in the US have remained strong. In 2023, the company managed to sell 3,461 units of the Giulia, demonstrating its continued popularity among consumers.

In addition to the Giulia and Tonale, Alfa Romeo is also working on an electrified 518bhp restomodded Alfa Giulia GT. This project showcases the company's commitment to innovation and its ability to blend classic design with modern technology.

The Giulietta was also a success for Alfa Romeo, selling 78,911 units across Europe in its best year. This compact hatchback offered a sporty driving experience and stylish Italian design, making it a popular choice among enthusiasts.

As Alfa Romeo continues to evolve, its focus on authentic Italian style and performance remains unchanged. The company's upcoming models promise to deliver the same driving passion and exhilaration that has defined the brand for generations.
